Years ago, a former boss shared a quote that has stayed with me ever since
"When the match ends, all that matters is who scored more goals."
I never agreed with that phrase. While achievements and results definitely hold importance in any endeavor, I found myself questioning - at what human and organizational cost do we pursue these goals?
This goal-oriented mindset in business led me to witness concerning scenarios: unethical solutions being implemented for quick wins, unnecessary risks taken without considering team psychological safety, and unreliable practices that prioritized short-term gains over sustainable success. These experiences made me reflect about the critical importance of valuing not just the destination, but the journey itself.
For me creating meaningful connections and fostering genuine empathy with colleagues it's fundamental to enjoying and succeeding in the work process. These genuine relationships act as the oil that keeps the machine running smoothly and efficiently.
To connect with others in a professional it's important to be open and transparent about who we are beyond our job titles and daily tasks. This makes me think about some important questions that we should all ask ourselves: Who am I at my core, and what aspects of my identity exist beyond my professional role?
Curiosity has been the driving force throughout my life's journey, opening doors to diverse experiences and continuous learning opportunities.
My passion for music has been a constant companion - I've practiced multiple instruments including the oboe, guitar, bass, and clarinet. Currently I’am the lead vocalist in a rock band.
Physical activity has always been an important part of my life, with different kind of experiences in team sports like soccer, hockey, and volleyball, to individual pursuits like swimming or stand up paddle. For several years now, I've found my athletic home in the challenging and strategic game of squash.
My curiosity led me to explore multiple languages like German, French, and English, which has opened doors to new cultures and ways of thinking.
I love art and drawing. It's something I've enjoyed my whole life, and I still make time to draw whenever I can.
As a recently graduated graphic designer and amateur photographer, I arrived in Spain with just my basic knowledge and a humble camera. There, I stepped into the role of photo editor for a prestigious Mediterranean regatta circuit, a job that changed my life.
Though I started as just an occasional photographer, I received encouraging recognition from established professionals in the field, who supported publishing my work alongside theirs.
This spirit of curiosity and continuous learning eventually guided me toward web design, where I discovered my true calling - understanding and enhancing the user experience. This journey has shown me that every step, even those that seem uncertain at first, contributes to our professional growth and personal development.
